Black History Month

October marked the beginning of Black History Month. The month presented an opportunity for our children to learn more about Black history through lessons, assemblies and other activities. It was also an opportunity for our school to emphasise our dedication to supporting and uplifting Black students.

This year, the theme of Black History Month in the UK was reclaiming narratives where we looked at less well-known and untold stories, as well as stories about famous historical figures. Listening to these stories, and learning about historical figures and their achievements, can inspire the younger generation to dream big.
